Recently there have been a lot of rumors flying around the internet about the Black Panther sequel and what villains may or may not show up in the movie.

From a return of Killmonger to even Namor, there have been all sorts of names thrown around for who the villain could be. Now there’s an official update on the movie’s status, and it turns out there’s no truth to those rumors.

BET interviewed Kevin Feige, and those Black Panther rumors came up. To them he said, “Pure rumor. The honest answer to that is that is pure rumor and speculation, because Mr. Coogler is just only in recent weeks sitting down at his keyboard and beginning to outline the movie. It’s early, so nothing is set yet in any way that far, because Mr. Coogler is sitting down and will share it with Nate Moore and myself in coming weeks.”

If the movie has barely started its outline (not to mention a script) and Ryan Coogler hasn’t discussed it with Kevin Feige, it’s way too early for any sort of plot details to be leaking out about the movie.
